Minnesota Twins Twins go Tree Chopping

Well it looks like 14 trees are going to be removed from near the outfield as they cause players to lose site of the ball.

Maybe they could dig them up and replant them somewhere...or sell them at auction to Twins fans.

Indeed Rick. Just replant them. Trees are chopped so easy nowadays.

They should plant three for every one they chop down!

Those trees don't even seem that big, I'm surprised they are that big of a deal.

I guess it was mainly during afternoon games. They had received complaints from both Twins players and opponents that they couldn't see the backdrop.

That would totally be cool if they auctioned them off! It'd be so sweet having that tree in my backyard. If they did plan on doing that, which isn't happening. I'm sure it'd be an in-house auction at Target Field. Selling to buyers outside of the area/state would be too much of a headache.

They'll find a nice spot for these trees!

Are they going to move the fences in as well? They should hack up the trees and make baseball bats to auction off for charity. I say that having no idea what kind of trees they are or how big they are.

The Minnesota Twins transplanted one of the 14 trees that was removed from behind the center field wall to Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School on Tuesday.

The tree is being planted in honor of 2006 Zumbrota graduate Patrick Gadient, who was killed in a car accident on Feb. 3. A Twins season ticket holder who works at the school took part in a team promotion asking why they deserved one of the trees.
