Milwaukee Brewers Happy Goodbye Day Randy Wolf

What did the Milwaukee Brewers give Randy Wolf for his 36th birthday?

    His release.

"To me, my birthday's just been another day," Wolf said. "Other than August 23 when I turned 21. I didn't feel very good the next day. I think that time was more of a physical punishment, this one's more of an emotional punishment."

"I've known about it," Wolf said. "I think the way the organization has treated me through this has been outstanding. They just wanted to give me a heads up. I think how much respect they showed me through this process was pretty amazing. I just wanted to thank them for everything. It's really unfortunate that this year was the way it was, and there's nobody more disappointed about it than I am."
Still, the Brewers could have at least given him a cake!

Best of luck to Wolf for catching on with another team. Rockies would be a good way to spent the rest of the year for him I think.

Brewers release Randy Wolf. Athletics' Bartolo Colon suspended for 50 games on the same day. Wolf's former personal catcher (George Kottaras) was traded to the A's before the deadline. Connection, anybody? I'll give it a couple days to happen.

I had not thought about this scenario, but the ducks all seem to line up.

Or maybe it's just that Wolf is a sucky overpaid veteran who is a waste of a roster spot, and there's no point in the Brewers keeping him on roster anymore this season (think Derek Lowe)
