They started with this concept with series like American Chopper (I loved that). But now you see so many of them: Pickers, Axemen, Iceroad Truckers, LA Ink, Miami Ink, to name a few. I think because the keep going on with the same concept, it is a bit over the top already.

One series I really like is Cake Boss. The guy is a genius. This series made my wife creating cakes like that as well, so I don't complain.

Man, did you see that cake that the dude made for Justin Tuck of the New York Giants? He made an awesome pool table cake for his birthday! It was freaking bad ass.

I also agree, this shows with the same concept are going over the top. Hardcore Pawn is actually pretty neat! Lots of drama, if thats what you like in TV shows or movies. Real life drama that is!

Getting back to American Pickers for a minute. One of the things that I really like about the show is some of those old guys they meet in their travels. One guy had this underground maze of rooms built and each one filled with just amazing stuff.

It took me all Summer just to build a damn shed.
I watched the Indy 500, and I was thinking that if they left earlier they wouldn't have to go so fast.

Nice poster of Paul and Dizzy Dean advertising Beech Nut Tobacco found by the pickers. They paid $425 and got it appraised for $800. In excellent condition it would be worth about $5,000.

I saw that episode a couple weeks ago. Such an awesome poster. Imagine having that hanging up in your game room!

Last I counted, there were about 9 different variations of these types of shows, that not including the real original(that being Antiques Roadshow)

    It's an overdone concept

Since a few months we can see Pawn Stars overhere. I had to grow into it, but I like it now. I must say that the bald guy knows his facts and his history, even European history. I tip my cap to him.
