    Honus Wagner Card

    It is not THE card.

However, some Nuns got the $220,000 they were supposed to get for a shellacked and authenticated Wagner card. A different buyer stepped up and the Nuns feel pretty blessed.

So the next time you are looking for a rare card...ask a Nun!

Pretty crazy! That was a great read though!

That is awesome. Collecting baseball cards has never been my cup of tea, but after reading this I think I should start right away and wait about 200 years before a Derek Jeter rookie card is worth as much as that Honus Wagner card.

Don't count on it. The reason this card is so valuable isn't because of the time, it's because less than 100 of these copies exist worldwide.

As for the people who spend that kind of money on a card, they gotta be crazy. I love baseball, I find old cards like this very interesting, but that kind of money on a card? Comon...It's almost as bad as when I read that Babe Ruth chewing gum sold for thousands. It's awesome to have, but I myself would never spend anymore than say $200 on baseball memorabilia.

The most I have ever spent on a card was $20. My personal limit for 1 card.

There are 65 Wagner Cards known to exist I believe. Could be wrong on that.

I can only agree with you. Back in 1995 when I was on vacation in California, I was in a memorabilia store. Shortly before Mickey Mantle had died. In that store there was a ball with his autograph. It had to cost $ 495.00. In no 495 years I will spend that on a signed baseball.

Wikipedia says 60 to 200, but Wikipedia is about as accurate is my 12 year old nephew that tells me every year the Cubs are going to win it all.
