University of San Diego(not to be confused with Tony Gwynn's San Diego State) had the misfortune of having to deal with a good UCLA team.
My Oregon Ducks face Kent State in the Super Regional here in Eugene. Went to Game 2 of the Regional last Friday, an awesome, bottom of the 9th comeback victory for the Ducks over the Governors of Austin Peay. Oregon went on to defeat Cal State Fullerton 7-5 on Saturday and Austin Peay 8-1 on Sunday to claim the Super Regional berth.
I am rooting for everything Californian except USC.
So go Bruins.
The super regionals are as follows:
Gainesville:
Florida vs NC State
Los Angeles:
UCLA vs TCU
Columbia:
South Carolina vs Oklahoma
Baton Rouge:
LSU vs Stony Brook
Eugene:
Oregon vs Kent State
Tucson:
Arizona vs St. John's
Waco:
Baylor vs Arkansas
Tallahassee:
Florida State vs Stanford
I don't understand the last one. Why does Stanford has to play so far from home? A Californian team playing in a (super) REGIONAL in Florida?
Can someone explain that to me. This sounds even more weird than the Atlanta Braves playing in the NL West....

I have to go with an old Big 8 team, the Oklahoma Sooners, then out of the rest I like LSU and Arizona.

Backer of Rockies and Yankees.
I'm still bitter about Purdue's early exit...it's hard for me to get back into this.
The Boilermakers finished the season winning their first ever Big Ten Title.
