I'm curious. You are a Yankee fan and a Brooklyn Dodger fan. Seems like an odd combination. How'd it come about?
I love to read about the history of baseball. I never cared much about the fact that the Dodgers moved to LA. For me the Dodgers were part of the golden age of baseball in New York together with the Yankees and the Giants. But when I saw some footage on TV about the Dodgers where a grown man cried when they demolished Ebbets Field it made me realize that the move of the Dodgers took the heart and soul out of Brooklyn. And that made me a Brooklyn Dodgers fan.

During the tour, the guide asked some trivia questions. The fun part was that I, a Dutch guy, was the only one who could answer the questions about the Brooklyn Dodgers and their retired numbers.

The former press room. Now they show a video about the Los Angeles Dodgers at the start of the tour.

I love Dodgers Stadium, thanks for posting these pictures. My head is frying with all the Yankee lovers on this board.

You're welcome. I have attended two games at Dodger Stadium in 1995 (one with Hideo Nomo pitching and one with Fernando Valenzuela pitching for the Padres. The latter got a standing ovation even thoug he was pitching for the opponent. That really gave me goose bums). But it was nice to do this tour. I have never been inside a big league stadium and this was a golden opportunity.

All the Yankee lovers? As far as I know RickD and I are the only ones here. Correct me if I am wrong.

Soberdennis one of the other great posters here at BN who has been inactive as of the last couple months or so is a Yankees fan, non-biased of course just like you and Rick. There was also this other kid Diehardyankeesfan, and a couple others who have fallen into the member archives. Good thing it's only you two left I guess. I really do miss the heck out of Soberdennis though, such a great poster with so much knowledge in the history of the game.

My father was one of those who lost something when the Dodgers left Brooklyn. He was a die-hard Dodgers fan and was so devastated by their unseemly departure that he never really followed baseball much after that -- although he did get back into it eventually with the general success of the Toronto Blues Jays in the early 1990's.

I could only imagine how he felt when his team was taken away from him. I'd probably be the same way if I was him. Pretty cool short story, even though it's saddening. You don't hear stuff like that every day, or the feelings and emotion behind things like that. Super cool to here it about my favorite team. Got the insight from an old-time Brooklyn Dodgers fan on how they felt after the move. Pretty sweet!

I know a couple of people who lived in Brooklyn during the Dodgers' days. Some of them have nerver gotten over it, like a piece of their heart has been ripped out of their chest.

Thank you for all of these awesome pictures! I was able to dance on the field in October of 2009 as part of the Junior Dodger Dancers and that was a pretty cool experience. I kept looking around to see if Ethier and Kemp were paying attention lol. I've only been to this stadium a few times but I'd definitely love to do their tour one day!
