    Texas Rangers Oswalt To Rangers?

According to Buster Olney of ESPN.com, the "full expectation" among some rival executives is that Roy Oswalt will sign with the Rangers.

It's a logical fit now that Neftali Feliz (elbow) is on the disabled list, but Olney was told that Oswalt may be attracted to the Rangers because of his ties with Nolan Ryan and Greg Maddux and the team's proximity to his home in Mississippi. The Rangers reportedly watched Oswalt throw last week, as did the Red Sox and Cardinals, but they have yet to make a formal offer.

Oswalt could be a boost to the Rangers rotation, however we've never seen him face AL pitching. It would be interesting to see if he would put up the same numbers.

He has always been a decent hitter, but how he adjusts to AL hitters is more pertinent.

Oswalt will be fine wherever he pitches, NL or AL

Oswalt will return to a major league mound Friday night in Texas when the Rangers face the Rockies.

If the Brewers can keep winning games, I wouldn't be surprised to see Doug Melvin go after Oswalt. We're short-handed on pitching with Estrada and Narveson out with injuries and we all know Doug is prone to making big moves near the deadline.

I'd shine his shoes if he went to the Rockies.

His 5.87 ERA in four minor league starts to begin the year are a little stomach-churning. He may have been rushed a little to get to the majors so quickly after a long break, but with this Rangers rotation, I don't think there was any easy solution.

Roy Oswalt is not happy with his new role in the Bullpen:

    "I'm a starter, I'm not really a bullpen guy."

"Well, I mean we're 4-2 in the games I started. I guess I should've been 6-0," Oswalt said. "Two bad ones and won four of them so ... I don't know. We'll see how it goes.
"It wasn't my decision. I'm down there to throw when they need me, I guess."
Oswalt was demoted to the bullpen July 31 after the Rangers acquired Ryan Dempster at the trade deadline.

Two bad ones? I guess Oswalt thinks allowing 5 runs and 13 hits in 6 innings is acceptable. He's delusional if he thinks a 5.82 ERA is good enough to be in the rotation. At one point this season, Ricky Romero was 8-2 but carried a 5.35 ERA. Oswalt needs to learn fast that it's not he, but the team, that wins games.
