    MLB Drug Testing

I was checking out to see if creatine was on the banned list and ran across this at the wiki page.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_L...ll_drug_policy

    Steroids

Testing is administered via scientifically-validated urine test.

During season play (beginning with Spring Training through the end of the Regular Season), there is no random drug testing.
What a sham the whole testing procedure is. MLB is green lighting the players as far as I'm concerned.

I think it is time to bring the minor league testing up to the bigs and for MLB to quit blowing smoke up public's you know what.

One of the substances I use for pre-workout, Jack3d, has been banned by Major League Baseball.

Players have been suspended in the past for taking it aswell. It's not a very powerful substance so I was shocked to discover this.

Creatine ain't banned is it? Under another name?

Seven others followed in rapid succession, including former big league utility infielder Omar Quintanilla.
Dang, that is strike two for my former fav Rockie. To bad for him he didn't remain on an MLB roster to remain at strike one.

I'm almost 100% positive that it is banned. I remember being 12 years old and eating up the McGwire-Sosa chase for 61 and remember hearing specifically it was banned because I had a cousin using it for workouts and it was the only one I had ever heard of outside of the word Steroid that was being tossed around about being banned.

Nevermind I stand corrected. I guess I just remember hearing them talking about using it.

Found this confirming its not banned.

Creatine, a legal dietary supplement that is not banned by MLB, NFL, NBA or NCAA, is an amino acid that boosts lean muscle mass and strength. Studies show it's effective for sports like baseball, tennis and golf, activities that require intense but brief bursts of energy and not so effective for sports that require endurance, such as running and soccer.
This is probably what I recall hearing:

Thanks Edge. I can see where one could easily get confused as far as creatine/McGwire goes. As far as the andro(think that is right) both McGwire and Selig knew it was a steroid. A friend of Seligs, who was a pharmacist from the Milwaukee area told Selig so. I read that when I followed steroids more.
