It's official -- Chris Narveson will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery just as soon as he can schedule an appointment with Dr. Lewis Yocum (Journal Sentinel Reports).
The recent news presents an entirely problem looming for Ron Roenicke, leaving him with a difficult decision to make. Who will be the next in line?
Marco Estrada appears to be the Brewers temporarily solution to a permanent problem. Estrada replaced Narveson in the rotation Saturday following the announcement, and came through with a masterful performance, likely earning him a position in the rotation for the next few weeks. However, the question remains -- if Marco struggles out of the gate, will the Brewers turn to stud prospect Wily Peralta, or search the free agent pool for talent?
Peralta has just one inning of Major League experience under his belt. If you know anything about Doug Melvin, you know he doesn't like to rush his prospects into key roles. He also has a reputation for making things happen, particularly in free agency.
With that said, what are the odds that Milwaukee goes after Roy Oswalt to replace Narveson? At this point, you can safely assume Oswalt is desperate to find a suitor...are the Brewers the one?

Roy Oswalt, Brewers?
