1946: The Red Sox beat the Yankees 12-5. They go on to win their next 14 games, for the longest winning streak in Red Sox history.

1912: First baseman Hugh Bradley hits the second and final home run of his career. It's the first home run ever hit at Fenway, and clears the left field wall.

2002: Derek Lowe throws the first no-hitter at Fenway Park in 36 years. He gives up only one walk, and beats the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 10-0.

1901: The Red Sox pick up their first win as a franchise. Cy Young beats the A's 8-6 in Philadelphia.

1907: After only eight games as manager (and a 2-6 record), George Huff resigns. Bob Unglaub takes over as manager of the Red Sox.

1938: The Red Sox beat Detroit 4-3, with Lefty Grove getting the win. That starts a streak of 20 consecutive home wins for Grove, broken against St. Louis in 1941.
