We're approximately two-weeks into the regular season, and Major League Baseball has ALREADY opened All-Star balloting....

Why do we even have an All-Star game at this point? This is ridiculous.

In my opinion the ASG always has been a popularity contest. This move by Selig & Co proves my point again.

But trust me, before you know it, we'll all be in a lather about who made it and who didn't -- exactly the kind of "press" that MLB and TV want in order to keep the whole thing going.

Me too. I can't get excited about this vehicle. Especially now the home advantage of the WS is linked to it.

I saw this and was not surprised at all. Complete popularity contest at this point and IMO this is not a smart baseball move.

We will not see deserving players get in.

I will tune this out this year.

Marketing is the reason IMO. In this way they try to keep the fans interested.
