The fact that Gotheem's Nationals switched in the middle of the season was also a questionable move. All of the available Cubs players were basically first come first serve, and whoever logged onto ESPN first got Anthony Rizzo and Alfonso Soriano.

We can't let teams switch in the middle of the season like that without notice.

I was a little confused as to why the Cabrera deal as well at first but I do understand trying to build for the future and it is entirely possible in the near future(next year) Longoria is a better fantasy option than Cabrera so I didn't see much reason to go against it. Given, this is coming from a guy that has no chance of catching LarryBud anyway so I definitely see your frustration especially seeing as you were the one that traded Cabrera in the first place.

Also as for the minor league commissioner I get where you are coming from and it would be a considerable amount more work. I'd be happy to step up and do it if it would help to get the minor league rosters done. I get I'm not the most active poster here by any means but I do lurk the site more than my post count would indicate.

Cabrera will be a better fantasy player this year, and for the next 3 or 4. Longoria can't stay healthy. I guess i am just most frustrated by the fact that i wouldnt have dealt Miggy if i knew that he would end up with the team i was trying to catch. I guess hindsight is 20/20. This whole season has been a very disspointing one for my team with the numerous lengthy DL stints to key players.....if my team would have been even reasonably healthy, i feel that i would be a lot closer to 1st than i really am. It seems like every move i make blows up in my face this year....ughhh

and mudge, i agree that you shouldn't have vetoed this trade (You have done an outstanding job as commisioner). It wasn't completely absurd, but it certainly is a very bad trade, and it most benefits the team we are all trying to catch...

Well, I feel like an idiot. Miguel Cabrera. Not Melky Cabrera.

I just wasted five minutes of my life. Previous post deleted...

To counter, I am trying to build an active and stable league, not just for this year, but for the future. The fact that many of the Cubs players were taken is offset for GotHeem by the fact that most of the decent Nationals players were also taken.

To me, it's a wash. Most of us are looking at the minor league prospects when selecting a team anyhow.

Getting an active and committed owner is more important than what team he picks. Recall, too, that every owner -- including you -- was given the option to select a Home Team when you entered the league. I see no reason to alter that policy, especially if it makes for a stronger league.

That's not my point Mudge. I'm okay with him switching teams.

The fact is, Baseballnum3er0 wanted Anthony Rizzo and didn't get him because Astrosfanatic logged on first. How is that fair to anyone? We should've given everyone an equal opportunity to bid for the available Cubs players BEFORE he switched.

I see your point, and it makes some sense. To be honest, I did not plan for a mid-season switch, and I am now aware that we might need some kind of draft order if the same situation occurs in the future.

Another insane night at the plate for the Royals...

Sadly, I missed out on seven hits from my bench.

    Orioles looking to the future.

Looking for young players who maybe aren't playing up to their potential just yet or even the rights to top prospects if we're allowed to do that (I doubt we are though.) Have plenty of salary space to work something out if you'd need to make room also.

    Players on the block ...

    C Jesus Montero (maybe)
    2B Dustin Ackley
    2B Neil Walker
    3B David Wright
    3B Michael Young
    SS J.J. Hardy
    LF Alex Gordon
    CF Drew Stubbs
    RF Shin-Soo Choo
    RF Nick Markakis
    OF Norichika Aoki

    SP Roy Halladay
    SP Jered Weaver
    SP Vance Worley
    SP Mark Buehrle
    SP Felix Doubront
    RP Chris Perez
    RP J.J. Putz
    RP Joe Nathan

Pretty much anyone except Wieters, Hosmer, Goldschmidt and Sale.
