Trevor couldn't follow up on his impressive first outing, though it was not horrible. He only allowed one run and one hit, but gave up 5 walks and only threw 42 strikes to a horrid 47 balls. This is a continuation of one of Bauer's main problems in his control. However, when he threw strikes Bauer was a either striking someone out or getting them to ground out, with only 1 fly out and 1 hit during the entire game.

Trevor continued to have control problems, and that combined with a low ground out rate led to a sub par outing. He only gave up two runs over 6 hits, but it was the four walks coming off his five walk outing last time that show some signs of worry. Trevor did however continue to strike people out with eight K's, giving him 24 in only 19 innings.

Bauer didn't have a terribly good outing last night against Las Vegas. He gave up 3 runs over six innings, and even more worriedly gave up 9 hits. However, Las Vegas is stacked with talent including notable players in Vlad Guerrero, Adam Lind, and prospect Travis D’Arnaud. This combined with the hitters park they play in might explain the outing, but Bauer needs to learn how to face tougher lineups. On a good note Trevor only walked two while striking out 7.

Bauer made his first start in Arizona with an appearance against the Tucson Padres, and boy was he impressive. Nick Piecoro was at the game, and reported,

"Bauer's line: 7 ip, 5 h, 0 r, 2 bb, 11 k, 98 pitches. 1st-pitch strikes to 22 of 27. Up to 96 mph, plus curve, good command. Impressive." As well as, "From Bauer, we've seen fastballs, curves, change-ups, couple sliders and maybe a reverse slider, though that could have been a change."

There are rumblings that Bauer may be promoted soon; though before he can be promoted a move needs to be made to make room for him. Many say the piece to go will be Joe Saunders as he has a one year deal and as a inning eating lefty would provide value for other clubs.

One thing is for sure, Bauer looks ready for the majors, and when a slot opens up he is sure to be the one called to fill it.

Over the last three starts for Reno Bauer has given up as many runs as he had in his previous three starts, and in the process his ERA has rocketed to an ugly 2.82. Despite this, it looks like the Dbacks will call on him to make his debut on Thursday against the Atlanta Braves. Joe Saunders went on the 15 day DL late last week with a sore arm, and Bauer will be called up to fill his slot in the rotation for now. Bauer was pulled early in his Sunday outing so he would be ready for his debut. We'll see how Bauer does against real major league hitters shortly.

Thought I would update some of these prospects:

On December 11, 2012 he was traded to the Cleveland Indians in a three team deal.
