I just read a really good article on Moyer in SI. Apparently he has a foundation set to help kids who have lost a loved one. They hold weekend camps where kids get to play and meet with counselors. They also get to meet with peers going through the same ordeals. He sounds like a genuinely fine fellow. If this is indeed his last year, I think baseball will be losing a fine person as well as player.

Sadly, his 50th birthday comes after the both the regular and post seasons are over, so any chance of Moyer's hitting that [unheard of] milestone will have to wait until 2013.

This old man still hopes he does. And, yes, he may be up with the Blue Jays soon given their current pitching woes.

Moyer has been cut by the Blue Jays. He had an 8.18 ERA on the AAA team in the unfriendly PCL league.

I'd like to see the Padres, A's, or Mariners sign him. They all need a starting pitcher at the moment (Marquis and Kip Well found a spot in San Diego, Oakland demoted Tyson Ross, Seattle recently demoted Hector Noesi and Erasmo Ramirez hit the DL) and they all play in pitcher-friendly ballparks. Moyer obviously still wants to play baseball and I'd really hate to see him retire on a sour note.

Any team out of the race that wants a good gate, should sign him. Really though, I agree with Rick. I don't want the guy to be like a MLB sideshow.

Yeah it is obvious he had one last hurrah this year and now he is diminishing that each time he gets cut. His skills just aren't there to the degree they once were and he should stop embarrassing himself.
