Boston Red Sox Daniel Bard Adjusting To Starting Role

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Daniel Bard was ready to pitch on Tuesday -- so ready in fact that with about 20 minutes before it was time to warm up, he didn't quite know what to do.
Welcome to life as the pitcher transitioning from the bullpen to the rotation.

Big reason I dropped him in my fantasy league. No doubt he can be a solid starter at some point but I have my doubts it will anything but a very rocky road.
You see, you spend a good piece of your life gripping a baseball, and in the end it turns out that it was the other way around all the time. ~Jim Bouton, Ball Four, 1970

Sometimes I think it is easier for a starter to go to the bullpen than vice-verse.

What did he do to kill the time?

"I pretty much went up to everyone and asked them, 'What am I supposed to be doing?' It was kind of a running joke throughout the day before," said Bard.

Don't the Red Sox have a pitching coach?
"I think about the cosmic snowball theory. A few million years from now the sun will burn out and lose its gravitational pull. The earth will turn into a giant snowball and be hurled through space. When that happens it won't matter if I get this guy out." Bill Lee

Their website lists Bob McClure as the pitching coach.

The Sox pitching coach is joke. I can see the Sox Starters having a bad year because they have a bullshit Pitching Coach,
