Colorado Rockies Marco Scutaro is now a Rockie

    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/0...o-scutaro.html

The Rockies have acquired Marco Scutaro from the Red Sox in exchange for Clayton Mortensen, reports ESPN's Jim Bowden (on Twitter). Troy Renck of The Denver Post first reported that the two sides were finishing up the trade.
I guess this officially means the end of the road for Eric Young Jr. as a Rockie?? It really befuddles me as to why they wouldn't give him a shot this year. He has great On-base numbers and he is a very efficient base stealer.

Scutaro has a little pop in his bat and can play both MI positions. That is a plus i guess. I dont really get this trade for the Rockies. The Red Sox needed to clear salary to be able to sign Roy Oswalt, so i understand their side.

    That would explain it then...

I meant to say erratic average arm for EY Jr....I posted from my phone.

I'm happy with the acquisition of Marco Scuturo but what I don't understand is the Rockies could have kept Mark Ellis for about the same money and not have to gamble about getting a good 2nd baseman to go with Tulowitzki.

I read a lot of comments by Red Sox fans about Scutaro. They weren't happy with him at all. So I guess they are glad the Red Sox got rid of him.
    How about you Troy?

It's good for our rotation but now we have a huge hole at SS. I hope they have someone in mind.

Possibly but I'm thinking the position will be split between Nick Punto and Mike Aviles. Between the two of them, they're only making $2.7 (Punto $1.5, Aviles $1.2) million in 2012.
I wish I could play little league now. I'd be way better than before.
