Vaessen Pioniers - UVV 2-0
On Sunday DH Jourick Blanco drove in a run in the fifth and the seventh inning, to clinch the series for Vaessen Pioniers. In the fifth, Michael Duursma touched homeplate and Mark Duursma did the same in the seventh.
Sparta/Feyenoord - Corendon Kinheim 6-1
The biggest surprise of this weekend was the 6-1 by Sparta/Feyenoord over divison leading Corendon Kinheim. Pitcher Elton Koeiman pitched a complete game in which he fanned three, walked two and allowed six hits. Sparta/Feyenoord opened the score in the first inning. Kevin van Nederpelt and Anthony Vrolijk touched homeplate. In the fourth inning, Churandy la Cruz scored the third run on a failed pick off attempt at second base.
Kinheim could not get into the game but the Rotterdam based team continued to score. Eventually they extended their score to six runs.
AamigoO AdoLakers - DOOR Neptunus 2-9
DOOR Neptunus managed to sweep AamigoO AdoLakers by slaughtering the The Hague based team 2-9. In six of nine innings Neptunus scored their runs. Four of those runs were scored in the eighth inning when the Rotterdam based team had nine players at bat. AdoLakers couldn't score any runs on the pitching of Bobby Carrinton who fanned five, walked one and allowed only two hits. AdoLakers scored their two runs in the ninth on the pitching of reliever Kevin van Veen.
Mr.Cocker HCAW - L&D Amsterdam 1-6
After two easy wins vs HCAW on Thursday and Saturday, L&D Amsterdam had a hard time in clinching the sweep. The Amsterdam team scored the opening run on hits of Percy Isenia and Kenny Berkenbosch but could not extend their lead until the seventh inning to 3-1. In the fifth HCAW evened the score on the pitching of Ben Grover (five K, five BB, four hits and one error). Finally in the ninth Amsterdam scored three more runs on hits of Roeland Henrique, Wesley Connor and a double by Sydney de Jong.

The Netherlands: 2011 World Champions baseball, beating Cuba twice (4-1 and 2-1)!!!!!
Yesterday three games were scheduled. Only one wasn't rained out.
AamigoO AdoLakers - UVV 2-12
Even this game was put on hold twice due to the bad weather. Eventually the game could be finished.
It was never a real exciting game for the neutral fan though. UVV pitcher Jurjen van Zijl took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. It took the The Hague based team until the eighth inning before they got a runner on second base. At that time, UVV already had a 5-0 lead. Eventually AdoLakers scored twice in the eighth inning a when Jaïr Roseburg (single) and Gregory Hassell (double) could score on a hit by Ludwin Obispo and a fielding error by 2B Shurty Tremus. Manager Frank Koene, replaced pitcher Jurjen van Zijl with Derek Tarapacki, who pitched the remainder of the game and struck out two.
UVV player Mitchel Koot (I played with his father in one team) was man of the match with three basehits and three RBI.

Sunday May 13 results:
UVV - Mr.Cocker HCAW: 4-0
The major share of UVV's runs was scored in the first inning. HCAW pitcher Dennis Bergrsdijk loaded the bases by allowing two hits and a walk. Ryan Murphy drove in two runners, followed by an RBI hit by Jirka Bliek, to make it 3-0 for UVV from Utrecht. This remained the score until the seventh inning. Once again HCAW allowed UVV to load the bases, but the team from Utrecht managed to score only one run on a hit by Giovanni Samboe.
Kyle Ward was the winning pitcher. He pitched seven innings in which he allowed four hits, fanned four and walked four.
DOOR Neptunus - Vaessen Pioniers: 3-2
After yesterday´s game it was another close one. Neptunus took the lead in the third inning when Benjamin Dille scored on a double by Dwayne Kemp. In the fourth, Neptunus extended their lead when Railly Legito and Rien Vernooij hit two doubles.
Pioniers evened the score in the fifth Zerzinho Croes (got on base thanks to a fielding error) scored the first run for the team from Hoofddorp after a double by Jefferson Muzo. Muzo, on his turn, was driven in by Michael Duursma.
But Neptunus pitcher Kevin Heijstek was dominating Pioiniers. They only managed to get one more hit. Netpunus eventually won the game in the eighth inning when Shaldimar Daantji scored on a hit by Railly Legito.
AamigoO AdoLakers - Corendon Kinheim: 4-6
AamigoO AdoLakers took the lead in the first inning on two fielding errors by Corendon Kinheim by scoring one run. Kinheim cut the lead in half in the same inning.
Only in the sixth inning, Kinheim loaded the bases and scored two runs on a hit by Mervin Gario.
In the ninth, Kinheim extended their lead to 6-2 on hits by Dirk van ´t Klooster, Ramiro Balentina, NIels van Weert and a double by Quentin de Cuba. Two Kinheim runners were nailed at home plate in the same inning, so the lead could not be extended anymore. AdoLakers managed to score two more runs for the final score 4-6.
Winning pitcher was Luke Sommer who pitched seven innings and allowed only two runs on four hits and struck out six.
L&D Amsterdam - Sparta/Feyenoord: 12-0
Today´s game didn´t even last two hours. L&D Amsterdam openend the score against the lowly Sparta/Feyenoord in the first when Bas Nooij drove the ball into the right field. Edison Bito commited an error that allowed Nooij to round the bases for the first run. Sidney de Jong took care of the second run with a solo shot. A bases loaded basehit by Percy Isenia drove in two more runs to make it 4-0 Amsterdam.
In the sixth inning Amsterdam scored eight times to finish the game in 6.5 innings (mercy rule).
Winning pitcher was Ben Grover who allowed only one hit in six innings, fanned three and walked one. Rik Geestman pitched the seventh inning to end the game for Amsterdam.
