Baltimore Orioles Hello from chilly PA

Hello, baseball fans! Found this forum and decided to join, seems like a pretty good board. Well, not much about me to tell. I am a Volvo parts professional, a diehard Orioles fan, (thick or thin, baby,) and I also believe that baseball never ends. Like I said, not much to tell lol. Well I am happy to be on here, and look foward to chatting with everyone here. Have a good one!

Welcome to BN. See they put a hockey rink on a perfectly good baseball field, there in Philly.

Welcome Rusty! Is there much talk up there about Prince Fielder these days? I have heard the O's name thrown around as a possible suitor....i am curious how the fans there might feel about that...

    Thanks for the welcomes, folks.

Rick, I just searched 'baseball forum' on google, and looked for one that looked worth joining. I am in Dallastown, there is actually a junkyard I go to in Gettysburg!

Sweater, I did see that. Pretty wild all the work they had to do to do it!

Astros, the Orioles organization insists that they are not going for Fielder, and it is all rumor. Fans are split. While I would love to have a player of his caliber on the team, I truly think that for us, it's way too much money that could be much better spent in other areas. Plus, word is that his agent insists they will not go for less than an 8-10 year deal, and we are not prepared to do that.

Thanks again for the welcomes, folks. Glad to be here

    Rusty.

Welcome from an even chillier Downeast Maine.

I had high hope for the Orioles last year, but things did not seem to come together (the young pitching was part of the problem I think). I hope that one more year under the belt paves the way for an even more competitive AL East.

Thanks, folks. I do think I will like it here

Mudge, so did I. I was holding high hopes for Matusz, after watching his breakout rookie season. Then that went to pot. Pitching is in fact a huge problem for our team, no secret there. But I think that within the next couple years, we might see a .500 or better team. I don't expect it for this season, though it would be nice.
