Well obviously there is a huge need for better police protection in Venezuela. Yeah if I was a player I would refuse to go there and if I was born and raised there I would not go back under these conditions.

Great news. From a personal source I guess the armed gunman were very unorganized and it was a matter of when, not if, he would be rescued. Glad he is safe now.

Wow, this is a horrible bit of news for Ramos, his family and Nationals fans. Wilson Ramos, the rookie catcher for the Washington Nationals baseball team, was recently kidnapped outside his home in his native nation of Venezuela. Ramos is more recognition deserving, as he is a professional athlete. However, there is a rampant issue throughout Latin America. I found this here: Latin American epidemic highlighted by Wilson Ramos kidnapping
Venezuelan authorities formally charged eight suspects Wednesday in the kidnapping of catcher Wilson Ramos.
The charges against the eight include kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms and using a stolen vehicle and criminal association, prosecutors said in a statement. Those jailed include six men accused of directly participating in the abduction and a 59-year-old woman and 74-year-old man who are charged as accomplices for allegedly providing food to the group.
