Closed Ballot: 1974 Veterans Committee Ballot

Welcome back to the Virtual HOF Series where YOU decide who is HOF worthy.

    1974 Veterans Committee Ballot

This is a great jumping on point.

You can click on a name and find out the baseball-reference information on each player.

Congrats to Eddie Mathews, Mickey Mantle and Joe Gordonwho were all elected on the 1974 BBWAA Ballot.

Ok just a reminder, these are the winners from past elections: HOF Inductees

We are now staying with 1974. You can vote for up to 4 players and umpires. Anyone not elected is gone like Yesterdays news.

NOTE: This is an exact replica of the 1974 Veterans Committee Ballot minus past winners. In addition, this has the Negro League ballot combined!

Voting closes Sun. Nov 13th at 7 am.

    Jim Bottomley
    Jocko Conlan
    Sam Thompson

Thompson had a lifetime BA of .331 over fifteen seasons. Not too shabby IMO.

James "Cool Papa" Bell only played in the Negro Leagues and never had the chance to show his skills in the Major League. Looking to the number of teams he played for, he was a journey man. I have read several stories of how good he really was. Maybe it is all hearsay, but when I have to judge him on those stories, I think he deserves a place in the HOF.
