Hideki Irabi, who spent 6 years in the Majors and earned the displeasure of George Steinbrenner, was found dead of an apparent suicide.

Sad. I was informed about it this morning. It brings me great sadness to have this said about another human being. When looking at the situation to have someone end their own life due to the possible encounters with other human beings. It sad when other human beings tear down someone's spirit. It deals with all concepts of abuse towards physical and mental dealing with words and actions.

Numerous arrests and issues with alcohol over the years. Very sad.

Tough news to hear. He was definitely a talented pitcher, but I don't think New York was the place he should have landed. Had he played in San Diego, he might have done better. New York has a lot more distractions and pressure.

It is also rumored that he had a troubled past with money and people cheating him. It wouldn't be a shock if his bank account was wiped out.

I am shocked to read this. He still was in baseball, playing for a Golden League team. RIP Hideki.

No suicide note and there will be a 6 - 8 week wait for toxicology reports. Death by hanging is the official cause.
