    How are your teams doing?

    I have 4 teams (3 espn, 1 yahoo)

    1. 4-2 (t-2nd in division, t-3rd overall, winning this week so should be 5-2 soon)
      • ESPN
      • 10-team
      • H2H Points
    2. 35-20-5 (3rd overall, losing 4-6 this week, but once my pitching qualifies, i should sweep those categories plus SBs for a 6-4 win)
      • ESPN
      • 10-team
      • H2H each category
    3. 35-25 (1st in division, 2nd overall, winning this week 8-2)
      • ESPN
      • 12-team
      • H2H each category
    4. 29-26-5 (t-5th overall, losing this week 3-6)
      • Yahoo!
      • 12-team
      • H2H each category

    i got 5 teams currently (3 ESPN, 2 Yahoo)

    ESPN leagues

    1. Dynasty league --- 2nd place w/ 74 pts

    2. Points league (keeper league as well) H2H ---- 1st place 4-2 record

    3. H2H league (also a keeper) ------- 1st place 40-16-4 record

My Yahoo leagues are both roto scoring format

    1. Keeper league ------dead last

*i am adding an asterisk here. i hated this team after last year so i decided to go with a different strategy of punting Wins and K's and going with all closers. So i kept 6 hitters and drafted all closers....basically my closers have all sucked and my offense has been even worse. 3 of my keepers were worth it (Reyes, Ethier, and maybe Stanton i guess) and the other 3 have been beyond terrible (Dunn, Crawford, Morales) ......i just misplayed this league this year...i have loaded up on prospects hoping for one or two to stick. Hosmer has a good chance.

    2. Other random league i joined ---- 1st place w/ 70.5 points

haha, lesson learned? With RPers being so erratic from year to year, I can't imagine this strategy ever working. Punting saves is one thing, as it's only one category and you could probably not draft any closers at all and end up with 2-4 decent ones by the end of the year as much as they change. But punting both wins and ks I would imagine would be tough to win from week to week basically giving away 2 categories from the start. Not to mention that if you're closers have a couple of bad games, it's tougher to get the ERA back down since they pitch so few innings.

In my 4 leagues, i've added a couple of Salas, Fuentes, Melancon, Francisco in each of them already.

I'd probably just punt the rest of the season and jump on any big prospects I could who may or may not see some playing time this year. Brown was just called back up ... Mous, Ackley, Strasburg, Teheran

Or any young players that people may have gotten impatient with like Alvarez, Snider, Belt, Jennings, Hughes, Porcello, Sale, Matusz ... idk, just throwin' some names out there. Or if they're owned maybe you could buy low on them.

    CBS Dynasty #1 | H2H Points | Weekly | 12 Team | 5-1 | Tied for First in Division

    CBS Dynasty #2 | H2H Points | Weekly | 10 Team | 5-1 | 1st in Division

    CBS Dynasty #3 | H2H Points | Daily | 12 Team | 1-5 | Last

    ESPN League | H2H Categories | Daily | 8 Team | 43-37-4 | 4th Place

CBS#1 I have been in since 2008 and I am off to my best start since we began.
Key Players: Trevor Cahill, Jose Bautista, Josh Tomlin, Adam Jones

CBS#2 I am the commish. Started it in 2009 and have an awesome rotation
Key Players: Josh Jonson, Justin Verlander, James Shields, Prince Fielder

CBS#3 I honestly dont pay alot of attention to. The lineup are set daily and I tend to forgert about it.
Key Players: David Price, Ubaldo Jiminez, Justin Upton, Chase Utley, Evan Longoria, Hanley Ramirez

ESPN - I hate the scoring on this one and will only do it for this season.
Key Players: Albert Pujols, Jon Letser, Lance Berkman, Dustin Pedroia, Brian McCann

oh i have the following guys already hoping they hit:

Dominic Brown, Mike Moustakas, Freddie Freeman, Mark Trumbo, Zach Britton, Eric Hosmer, Bumgarner

i got the prospects, i am just hoping 2 of them really hit.

As far as the strategy goes, i was thinking that 4 good closers and 1 decent one would give me an ERA below 3, more than enough saves, and a WHIP below 1.20. All of those should be good enough to win those categories giving me 33 points (11-team league). then the 2 points would give me 35 points total. Divide that by the 5 categories and it's an average of 7 points for each category which should have been good enough to support a solid offense which was what i was hoping to have. Unfortunately for me, too many guys SUCKED this year that i kept. Oh well, lesson learned. I have actually made some trades that have given me a decent pitching staff right now i think.

    here it is:

    SP Tommy Hanson
    SP Zach Britton
    SP Annibal Sanchez
    SP Johnny Cueto
    SP Madison Bumgarner
    SP Gavin Floyd

It's not great, but considering i started with ZERO SP's this year, i think it will get me through the rest of the year. I am only 8 wins behind the 2nd to last place guy, and so i can make up some ground there. I just dont want to finish last. I have never finished dead last in a league i tried in. I wont this year.

    • 6 out of 10 in the Baseball Nation Dynasty League -- ESPN rotisserie scoring. My offense is slightly above average (6.6 points out of 10-- the median would be 5.5); my pitching has below average (4.6 points out of 10-- the median would be 5.5).

    • 6 out of 12 in The Mudge League -- ESPN rotisserie scoring. Good offense (average of 8.8 points out of 12 -- the median would be 6.5); wretched pitching (4.4 points out of 12-- the median would be 6.5).

    • 6 out of 12 in the Talk-Baseball Keeper League -- ESPN H2H, 10 categories. Overall record: 30-24-6.

    • 1 out of 10 in a league entitled It's 5 O'clock Somewhere--CBS rotisserie scoring. I'm way ahead in this public league that I joined just for the hell of it. Great hitting (1st in the league) and good pitching (2nd in the league).

    I like 6th place, I guess.

I'm in a couple more Yahoo leagues. I'll update those later.

Just checked my only team for the first time in several weeks, yeah I am that guy, an dmy team is .500. In second place in my division and would get the wildcard if the season ended today. Not too bad for being on autopilot. Made a few quick moves and might actually sneak out an overall win this week.

Just finished up some "Virtual" House cleaning on one of my teams. Release James Loney, Freddy Sanchez, JJ Hardy, Brian Duensing and Orlando Hudson. Then I picked up Ryan Ludwick, Chris Narverson, Jason Kubel, Sam Fuld and Mike Aviles. May not get people too excited, but all the guys i picked up had more points this year than the guy I dropped.

wow. that is close. I lost this week in my points league unfortunately. i was playing the last place team (0-6) and he had faced the highest scoring team for the last 4 weeks. i had a feeling i was going to lose this one. I hate facing a team that has had hard luck for the past couple weeks. they always seem to beat me
