Talking about sore right knee... MLB.com states that Chipper Jones is feeling a discomfort in his surgically repaired left knee. Jones was quoted: "It was a bad day today," Jones said. "I didn't feel good doing anything. ... Some days I wake up and I can tell it's going to be a good day, and other days I'm going to have to fight my way through it."

I wouldn't be surprised if he is the third big name that will announce hisretirement in the last few weeks.

I think Jones is a good way from retirement. The last few days he has been more positive about his prospects and has had some days when he worked the knee hard without discomfort.-BH

Braves place Jair Jurrjens on 15 day DL

Just to give Jurrjens some more time to recover from his strained oblique muscle, the Braves put my fellow countryman on the 15 day DL again.

They call up Mike Minor to replace him.

This move gives the Braves a Lefty in the back end of the rotation which previously featured all right handed pitchers.

I posted on my blog about the whole Jurrjens/Beachy/Minor situation. I think the Braves could possibly be in a situation to make a move here.

Also, article on Yahoo! about the same thing:

Hope it's Kosher with you guys to post links to relevant articles (?)

Anyhow, I would love to hear everyone's opinion on this situation. I, personally would love to see Mike Minor get a shot at nailing down a spot in the rotation. I feel like the Braves need a lefty starter, and Jurrjens is becoming unreliable.

Jason Heyward said he is going to have an MRI on his right shoulder Thursday to determine the cause of a mysterious numbness down his right arm to his hand.

Yeah, Heyward's been complaining since the Spring. Just hope it's not too bad. He said it feels as there might be something moving around or out of place in the shoulder.-BH
