Tampa Bay Rays Stadium Talks continue

According to the St. Petersburg Times, the talks between the City of St. Petersburg and Rays' principle owner Stuart Sternberg are moving on.

The mayor of St. Pete, Bill Foster, claims that he isn't affraid that the Rays will move somewhere else. Besides that, Foster says that the city of St. Petersburg is ready for interference by MLB.

An open air small stadium (like PNC Park) may be the solution for the Rays IMO. The current stadium isn't a very inspiring place.

A stadium like PNC Park is perfect for a small market team, and it is also VERY nice, especially with the city in the background. Definitely a good idea of they Rays in my opinion.

If the Rays did move, where would they go?
    White Sox Record: 4-2
    Cubs Record: 3-3

I made a bet that by the end of May, the White Sox would have a better record of the Cubs. I prepare to win.

Since Las Vegas is preparing to lure a team, the name of the Rays is constantly mentioned. IF a team will move to LV, it will be an American League team.

See my thread about Las Vegas trying to land an MLB team.

Okay. Thanks. That would suck for the Tampa area.

Would it be in fact that the LV team would be an American League team? If so, it must be the Rays who would move to LV if this deal does happen.

there would be a chance, should that happen, for MLB to balance out the divisions maybe. it's weird that the AL West has 4 teams while the NL Central has 6 teams. The only problem with that is finding an NL team willing to switch over.

I am all for a move of the Red Sox to the AL West. Even better, to the AL Central. Weird? Yeah. Look at the Braves before the three divisions were installed. They were playing in the NL West!!!!
