I thought it would be a good idea to have a seperate thread for the Mets news, gameday discussions and whatever else seeing as there isn't a dedicated Mets sub-forum. I hope this is OK with the moderators. If not, let me know.

The animosity between the Mets and troubled closer Francisco Rodriguez could be on display for all to see - in color - when the ballclub's 2010 team picture comes out.
Rodriguez and Johan Santana were the only Mets who could not attend the photo shoot before Wednesday night's game. Club officials said that Santana, who is recovering from shoulder surgery, would be photo-shopped into the image. When a report surfaced on ESPNNewYork.com that a club official said K-Rod would not be in the picture, a team spokesman was non-committal.
"The picture was just taken 3 1/2 hours ago," a Mets spokesman said when questioned about the report. "The final composition has not been decided."
The Mets have been at odds with K-Rod since his Aug. 11 arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend's father at Citi Field after a game. The righthander is out for the rest of the season after requiring thumb surgery that the team says occurred in the altercation even though he pitched after the incident. The Mets have placed him on the disqualified list, don't want to pay him for the remainder of this season and could be seeking to void the deal. And they've cleaned out his clubhouse locker and given it to another player.
"I don't know where that's coming from," the spokesman added.
Mejia is out for the rest of the season with a shoulder strain.
Jenrry Mejia underwent an MRI this morning at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, and the report revealed he has a rhomboid strain of the right shoulder blade.
Mejia will be shutdown from throwing until he has fully recovered, and will miss the rest of the 2010 season.
At the very least, there is no structural damage in the shoulder, which is a very good thing. That said, it’s the second shoulder injury he’s had in the last couple of months
The Mets are looking for the four game sweep of The Pirates tonight. Here's the lineup:
1. Jose Reyes SS
2. Jesus Feliciano RF
3. Angel Pagan CF
4. David Wright 3B
5. Ike Davis 1B
6. Josh Thole C
7. Lucas Duda LF
8. Ruben Tejada 2B
Mike Pelfrey will be pitching for The Mets. He is currently 14-9 with a 3.89 ERA.
Charlie Morton (1-11, 9.05 ERA) will start for the Pirates.
My internet has been out all day and just came back on. Tuning in to the Braves @ Mets game, currently 6-4 Atlanta in the bottom of the seventh.

The Mets are beaten 6-4 in the first of a three game series against the Braves at Citi-Field.
Tuning into the game late tonight again. It's currently 3-2 to the Braves in the top of the seventh.
This thread really isn't going the way I had hoped, mainly because of the lack of members and Mets fans on the board. Hopefully when we get sub-forums set up for each team and more members signing up then we can have seperate game day threads.
