What's your favorite MiLB team?

I live about a mile from the kannapolis Intimidators in Kannapolis NC (Charlotte Metro) the single A White Sox (Carolina League).

cool story about the name, Kannapolis is/was the home of Dale Earnhardt, and his family were somehow affiliated with the team, so after his death in 2001, they changed there team name to the Intimidators which was his name on the track.

nice little park I tend to get there about a dozen times each Summer.

Our hometown Eugene Emeralds, currently the Padres affiliate in the single A shortseason Northwest League. They have changed affiliations so many times in the 20 years I have lived here. They were a Braves team for a short while in the 90's, and Jon Schuerholz and Stan Kasten showed up for opening night of their first season. I got Schuerholz autograph! It was awesome.

Unfortunately, they recently moved from the older Civic Stadium, to the new stadium the University of Oregon built for their new baseball program, and an all artificial turf surface. PK park just doesn't have the charm that so many of the new minor league parks have, it just isn't built for the minor league game.

I used to drive up to Portland several times a season to see the Portland Beavers, who most recently were San Diego's AAA affiliate. The City of Portland sold them out for a new MLS team (soccer!!!!! geez) and they moved to Tucson.

It's shameful to lose baseball for a lame sport like soccer.
