He is a total over-achiever, he got drafted in the third round of 2011, then he has an amazing minor league year in 2012 then Cueto gets injured and he dominates the majors for only three starts. I...
He is now a very expensive minor leaguer at 2 million per year.
Matt Garza has been called up to continue his rehab at Triple AAA Iowa, for about 2-3 starts.
Ian Sterwart has been activated form the DL but will remain in Triple AAA Iowa until he proves he can hit there, so far this year (on his rehab) he has hit .091 in 44 at-bats.
Interesting...
I think Appel is the real deal, haven't really seen any video of Gray. Hope the Astros pass on another Boras client.
Marmol is terrible. Now that the Cubs signed Gregg back, I'm almost cheering for Gregg or Camp or somebody besides Marmol until Fug. is back from DL
This to me signals that they are ready to climb to the top of the AL West, with all those pitching prospects.
Matt Garza Injury Update
Cubs right-hander Matt Garza threw a bullpen session Monday for the first time since going down with an elbow injury in late July, per Bruce Levine of ESPN. Garza threw 30...
Welcome! This is a really nice forum with a a lot of nice people.
One thing I notice looking over his stats is his big batting average decrease starting in 2010, before that he was exceeding at batting average .280 to .290 range every year. He still maintained his...
I know I'm a little biased but but Ernie Banks before he moved to 1B was pretty good, but still Wagner.
But most of them most likely want to be on winning teams.
They are no where close to competing so why waste the money to get a few wins better in 2013?

They just recently I believe signed him to a long term deal, but at this point anything can happen in this sort of offseason.
I think they should try to deal Andrus for some pitching or some OF help after missing out on Upton.
1)Javier Baez SS
2)Albert Almora CF
3)Jorge Soler LF
4)Ardroys Viscanio (Spelled wrong but close I think) RP/SP
5)Pirece Johnson SP
If a spot opens up I would be interested!
John Heyman has said that Kubel would be the odd man out, so to me this is a surprise move from the D-Backs.
^ Nice jersey! Merry Christmas to you also!
I say Humber will take a crack at the the 5th spot. I also can see the Astros signing Kyle Loshe for a veteran and a solid 2 man.
I like the signing provides more starting pitching depth and at a low-risk, low-cost.
I agree they are going for youth, but just to point out what Dempster got was ridiculous.
I like this move as a Cubs's fan but from what I have read many others do not. I understand it is a overpay but only in attempt to fix one of the worst rotations in baseball. Thoughts?
