Very true. Managers take too much heat when it comes to individual player performance and I am curious how much a manager really matters in the grand scheme of things.
I do think the Mariners...
Mattingly has had to suffer through the loss of Hanley Ramirez and Greinke while watching Josh Beckett, Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier and even Adrian Gonzalez not quite live up to their expected potential....
I'd be all for a 7 or even 9 game playoff format for all rounds.
True. But then you wouldn't be able to expand the playoffs much without somebody arguing against adding games to the already large number already played. I would rather keep the overall number played...
At some point we are going to have to realize 300 wins cannot be the standard for HOF pitchers. With bullpen usage and injuries I think it needs to be lowered. I know its not a set in stone standard...
As much as I love having 162 games of baseball each season I have always thought it was a waste to play all those games and risk injury to the players only to have the champion decided in such a way....
My fondest memory of Dontrelle Willis? It was my very first dynasty league using OOTP and we were allowed to draft 5 minor league players throughout MLB. I remember reading through the BA prospect...
Agreed completely. I felt the same way about my Mariners in 2001 when we won 116 games. We proved to be the best team in baseball that year. If you took the playoffs and swapped them out for the same...
Good for him.
I understand that religious folks have an issue with homosexuality and as long as that issue does not become hatred I respect their stance. However, I think all people should have...
It makes sense but definitely not something our society could handle. What would we do without our playoffs? A last ditch effort to become the overall winner.
That is another possibility lol
I have a feeling he was sent all the way to Single-A due to location and weather since their Triple-A team is no longer in Las Vegas and Double-A is in New Hampshire. Likely would have headed to Las...
I've got a solution. It's called contraction. Or move the team to Mexico :D
Its a great movie. I actually picked it up on Blu Ray.
However, as a non casual baseball fan its a movie that you can't think too much about. Its not accurate in a lot of areas but its a great...
I am actually looking forward to seeing Bonderman in Tacoma.
George Sherrill and Christian Colon jump out at me. I've heard he could force his way into the battle at 2B. Never can count out George Sherrill.
Very interested to see what Bonderman can do. Other than him I don't think anybody has a real shot to crack the 25 man roster. Brad Miller could be a wildcard. Not much of a chance of heading to...
I don't see where the choice between A and B is as obvious as some seem to think. Looks pretty close to me and honestly you couldn't go wrong with either pitcher. Especially when you consider the age...
Throw in Nemo 3D and make the best of it lol ;) Good luck out there. Stay safe.
I've been just floating along. Trying to take care of myself. Keep the depression under control. Focus on baseball....
Joe Saunders is essentially Jason Vargas. Expect by singing Saunders we also get Morales. Great deal IMO. Not a game changer but he's solid and will slot nicely after Felix and Iwakuma.
I think one of the big reasons you don't see it more often is the fact that baseball does not handle players who don't posses a traditional skill set. Scouts like big time fastballs and pitchers who...
I think the logistics of bringing in that number of players would be a nightmare. Add the fact that baseball has so many different summer leagues, advances leagues, etc and there is little need....
Kevin Millwood was a blast to watch this season and he was a great presence in the clubhouse. Great example of one of the good guys in baseball.
I haven't but I just added it to my instant queue and hope to watch it in the next few days. Thank you for sharing.
