The end of April is when I like to look around baseball for surprises. I enjoy spotting masters of the small sample size, and the biggest name to jump out at me was Barry Zito. Zito has the 14th best ERA in the NL with a sparkling 1.67 and an even better WHIP of 0.926. Poor run support has granted him a 1-0 record, but he certainly has to be one of the early contenders for comeback player of the year. That is if he can maintain this new (old) level of performance.
