In what would be a record tying night for the team, the Biscuits took a 3-0 lead in the first on the pitching of Brandon Maurer. A single by Hak-Ju Lee and a triple by Ty Morrison scored the first run. Walks by Omar Luna and Keyong Kang loaded the bases before Tyler Bortnick singled to right to drive in Morrison gave the Biscuits another bases loaded situation. A sac fly by Michael Sheridan made Omar Luna touch home plate. For the rest of his outing Maurer kept the Biscuits from scoring.
Alex Colome made his first start since coming of the DL. In the third and the fourth inning he had to surrender respectively two runs and one run.
In the sixth inning the Biscuits offense exploded. Fourteen batters came at bat and Montgomery scored ten runs. With this ten run inning the Biscuits tied a team record. The record tier came from the bat of Tyler Bortnick. With a double he drove in Omar Luna and Ryan Garko for the ninth and tenth run in that inning and the twelfth and thirteenth run of the game.
Montgomery added three more runs in the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, Ty Morrison hit the ball towards shortstop Francisco Martinez, who committed an error that allowed David Wendt to score. A ground out by Omar Luna (4-3) scored Emeel Salem. Hak-Ju Lee scored on a ground out by Ryan Garko (5-3).
Merrill Kelly pitched three innings in relief and earned the win (W 2-0, 3.34 ERA)
All Biscuits batters got at least one hit, seven got a multi hit game. Best batter was Emeel Salem who went 2 for 2 with an RBI.
In total the Biscuits collected eighteen hits: one triple, two doubles and fifteen singles.
Even though their record improved to 26-23, the Biscuits didn't gain ground on the BayBears who won as well.
