Walk off loss for Biscuits

Rate this Entry
In a game where the Bicuits took an early lead and extended it to 4-0, the Blue Wahoos eventually evened the score in the seventh inning.

Biscuits starter Kyle Lobstein pitched six superb innings in which he allowed only one run on three hits. Lobstein walked three and struck out three. Because of the Rays inflicted pitch count, he was pulled after that sixth inning.

The seventh inning was disastrous for the Biscuits as Kirby Yates couldn't get out of the inning after retiring two Wahoo batters. In that inning Hak-Ju Lee commited his third error in as many games, but that error didn't lead to any problems because the next batter hit into a double play.
With two outs, the Blue Wahoos singled twice, doubled and singled again to tie the game at four.

Then in the ninth the Blue Wahoos showed what small ball can do. With Josh Fellhauer at third base for Pensacola, Brian Peacock laid down a bunt as part of a squeeze play that scored Fellhauer for the 5-4 win.

Best batter for the Biscuits was Tyler Bortnick, going 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI.
