Back when you were just a little guy playing T-Ball, what were some of you're funniest memories?
I think my most embarrassing moment, was when I was about eight and accidentally ran to the pitchers mound with my batting helmet on. I must have tossed three warm up pitchers before a coach finally jogged out and told me what was going on.
It took me years to live that one down

Unfortunately I was 24 when I started to play baseball, so I missed the whole sandlot/little league thing. But trust me, I have seen various fielders wearing their batting helmet in the field. You're not the only one.

Yeah, but it's different when you're the pitcher. All eyes are on you ;)

Something my Dad always brings up to this day is the fact that I use to do the sign of the cross every time I went up to bat. I was about 10. I'd copy some of my favorite players and do it. I'm not catholic, I just did the sign of the cross across my body to be cool like the players, not knowing it was for the catholic religion.

I did that at the most 3 times when I would score a run. I wanted to save it for a homerun, but being the lead-off guy that never happened.

At some point in my baseball "career" I made a terrible baserunning boner.
At a certain game, my team could only field eight players for some reason. So we had an automatic out at the spot of the ninth batter.
At some point in the game we had a runner on third and the eighth batter was at bat with two outs. Of course the opponent walked him to end the inning. But the runner on third was smart enough to steal home during the trot of the batter towards first. No one expected him to do this. And what was the risk? We would have had an out anyway.
Later that game when we were at bat, I was at third. I thought that I could do the same. So I tried to steal home when the number eight batter was given a walk. Unfortunately I didn't count the outs very well and was tagged out......
as the third out. :banghead:

LOL! That's a good story. As a pitcher in little league we had the rounded backstops and I threw a pitch that hit the top of the backstop. It was probably about 25 feet high.

So you played outfield for the rest of your little league career? ;)

Haha, no. Was converted to an OF in high school because thats where my brother played and my high school coached loved my brother when he had him. So, I had to be just like my brother and do everything he was doing.

I always tapped my shoes....ALWAYS! Bat to the shoe, then tap the plate, then strike out....

While constantly tapping his shoes with an aluminium bat, a team mate of mine broke (!) that bat when hitting a ball. It is the last thing you would expect.
