Ken Burns has taken Baseball into extra innings...

Picking up where the previous Baseball Series ended, Burns moves through the work stoppage, the steroid era, etc.
I have never actually seen the original series...I will have to check into that and this!

I watched the original 9 innings and the 10th inning segment and they were ok but he spent way too much time on old black players which was interesting but at the same time I felt he went a little overboard.
He also was very East coast biased in the 10th inning. He spent several minutes on the Redsox winning in 2004 but maybe 10 seconds on the Whitesox winning in 2005.
I became bored with it after awhile and forwarded to parts that looked interesting. I suppose he did a good job with the series because he won a Emmy but I wish somebody else woulda told the story. It coulda been better.

I've never seen it and look fw to sitting down with it someday.
Rick, I thought the original Nine Innings was extremely well done. He does spend quite a bit of time on the black players, but remember, this series is almost 20 years old. I learned a lot about the black players I didn't know up until that time. As a history of the game, and a very good one, it is well worth watching.-BH

The 10th inning was on PBS here in Denver but I missed it.
I've watched the original 3 times. Littleton library carried it.
