The members that are here for a longer time will recognize this game. I have introduced it before but it wasn't really a success back then. I thought: "Let's give it a final try with all the new members around." If this won't work, I will cease it for good.

Rules:

One post a logo of a baseball club (MLB, MiLB, Japanese, European, you name it). The next one needs to post a logo with a certain link to that previous club. That can be colours, same league, affiliation, players that played for both clubs... It is up to you.

One example.

I post the logo of the Tampa Bay Rays. The next one can post a logo of the Hudson Valley Renegades, which is the A affiliate of the Rays.

I would like to ask you to avoid using the same logo twice, as much as possible.

All right. Off we go.

Here is the Dutch club named Braves. They're from Gouda (yes famous for the cheese)

This post isn't to continue the thread topic but to reply to the Braves "creativity." The Braves have strived to keep all their farm systems in-house operations. For instance I'll use a local team to me, the Lookouts. They are owned by a seperate entity and have a working relationship with the Dodgers. Several years ago that working relationship was with the Reds. Essentially the Braves have no middlemen between local ownership and the big league club ownership. In that way, a lot of minor league teams are essentially contractors of the sporting world.

I understand. But still I think that they will have a better tie when the farm teams have a name that can be linked to the area they are in.

If you look though, they do have local ties. North GA was the centerpoint of the Cherokee Indian nation, which is where Atlanta, Rome and Gwinnett are located. Danville is in Virginia which also had a large native american population, as well as Mississippi. The Braves did at one point have a team with a nickname fitting to a specific area in that they had a team in Myrtle Beach, SC called the Pelicans. Not sure if they still exist or have ended the affiliation with them or what the deal is with them.

Yes the Pelicans do still exist but are a Texas affiliation now. The Braves single A team has moved to Lynchburg.

To continue with the American native theme...

What I like about the Spokane Indians is that they created a logo in the language of the local tribe.

It seems that there is more reason for Braves in Atlanta than in Boston.:fing02:
