Trevor was drafted by the Diamondbacks 3rd overall in the 2011 draft after he went 13-2 with a 1.25 ERA in his Junior year at UCLA. Last year he went 1-2 in 7 starts(wasn't that impressive). However, Trevor dominated in Spring Training and has shown signs of being the future ace he is expected to be.

Trevor dominated in his first start for mobile, allowing no runs and only two hits in 5 innings as well as striking out seven. He was on a pitch count so he could have pitched longer.

How many pitches did he throw/was he supposed throw?

It was at 80 pitches, he went slightly over at 86. Good for a first start, the Dbacks are trying to keep his arm semi rested for later this year.

Do you expect them to lower the PC for his next start?

No, it should remain around the same, but I wouldn't know until after the game.

Yeah, I loved it. When I read it I decide I had to post it so I started this:veryhappy:.

Trevor pitched 5 innings recording 11 K's and 4 walks while giving up no runs. He hit the century mark in only five innings due to command problems which Baur continues to have, but he dominated when he was in the strike zone. However Baur will need to improve his walk rate before being promoted.

Trevor had a bad outing allowing one run, five walks, and only two k's on Sunday. He also only pitched five innings again as his struggles with his command continues to limit his ability to pitch deep into games.

Bauer finally pitched more than five innings, pitching through 7 shutout innings in yesterday's start. He only walked two batters while striking out 8 and only allowing 4 hits. Despite his struggles so far Trevor has posted a line of 22.2 IP, 12 H, 28:14 K:BB, 1 ER, 0.40 ERA so far this year. He has dominated despite the multitude of walks, and if he can find the type of control he had yesterday will be a Cy Young caliber pitcher for many years to come.

After two bad outings Bauer came back strong yesterday, pitching 7 shutout innings of one hit ball. However, even in this start Bauer continues to show a lack of control as he gave up 5 free passes. Despite this there are bright spots in his development, as Trevor has decided to try to get more groundballs, and with a 9:4 GO:FO ratio he did just that.

Lol, I was amazed too. He really needs to get his command down though, of course he is perfectly capable of doing that, but if he has a weakness that would be it.

Yesterday was possibly the best start of the season for Trevor as he went seven shutout innings with 9 strikeouts. The most encouraging stat of the game is the 1 walk, which is the lowest amount of walks he has given up all year. He also continued his groundball ways with a 7:3 GO:FO ratio.

Things are looking bright for Bauer, who has a 7 - 1 record on the year with a sparkling 1.68 ERA and 60 strikeouts. If anything goes wrong in the Dbacks rotation he will almost certainly be called upon to fill the void.

Today, Trevor Bauer was promoted to Triple A Reno in order for him to face tougher hitters. The PCL is know as a notoriously hitter friendly environment, and this combined with far better hitters will provide Bauer with a challenge. Depending on how well he does, Bauer will be in line for a promotion as soon as June.

just earned, though I think he's giving up 2 unearned runs so far, I'll change the post to specify which it is.

I also wanted to share an interview that Nick Poecoro of azcentral had with Trevor. It's pretty interesting stuff. (Hint: Bauer disappointed with himself)

I've update the thread to include tables with season stats and last ten games, as well as adding summary tables for every post for his games.

Trevor started his first game in Triple A yesterday, and he threw 8 innings of 1 run ball. Obviously Bauer didn't get the message he was supposed to give up runs:veryhappy:. He also matched his season high with 11 K's and his season low with only 1 walk. He had a nasty curve ball going which he used to devastate hitters, as well as a fastball hitting 95 Mph.

Trevor couldn't follow up on his impressive first outing, though it was not horrible. He only allowed one run and one hit, but gave up 5 walks and only threw 42 strikes to a horrid 47 balls. This is a continuation of one of Bauer's main problems in his control. However, when he threw strikes Bauer was a either striking someone out or getting them to ground out, with only 1 fly out and 1 hit during the entire game.

Trevor continued to have control problems, and that combined with a low ground out rate led to a sub par outing. He only gave up two runs over 6 hits, but it was the four walks coming off his five walk outing last time that show some signs of worry. Trevor did however continue to strike people out with eight K's, giving him 24 in only 19 innings.

Bauer didn't have a terribly good outing last night against Las Vegas. He gave up 3 runs over six innings, and even more worriedly gave up 9 hits. However, Las Vegas is stacked with talent including notable players in Vlad Guerrero, Adam Lind, and prospect Travis D’Arnaud. This combined with the hitters park they play in might explain the outing, but Bauer needs to learn how to face tougher lineups. On a good note Trevor only walked two while striking out 7.

Bauer made his first start in Arizona with an appearance against the Tucson Padres, and boy was he impressive. Nick Piecoro (https://twitter.com/#!/nickpiecoro) was at the game, and reported,

"Bauer's line: 7 ip, 5 h, 0 r, 2 bb, 11 k, 98 pitches. 1st-pitch strikes to 22 of 27. Up to 96 mph, plus curve, good command. Impressive." As well as, "From Bauer, we've seen fastballs, curves, change-ups, couple sliders and maybe a reverse slider, though that could have been a change."

There are rumblings that Bauer may be promoted soon; though before he can be promoted a move needs to be made to make room for him. Many say the piece to go will be Joe Saunders as he has a one year deal and as a inning eating lefty would provide value for other clubs.

One thing is for sure, Bauer looks ready for the majors, and when a slot opens up he is sure to be the one called to fill it.

Over the last three starts for Reno Bauer has given up as many runs as he had in his previous three starts, and in the process his ERA has rocketed to an ugly 2.82. Despite this, it looks like the Dbacks will call on him to make his debut on Thursday against the Atlanta Braves. Joe Saunders went on the 15 day DL late last week with a sore arm, and Bauer will be called up to fill his slot in the rotation for now. Bauer was pulled early in his Sunday outing so he would be ready for his debut. We'll see how Bauer does against real major league hitters shortly.

Thought I would update some of these prospects:

On December 11, 2012 he was traded to the Cleveland Indians in a three team deal.
