Joba Chamberlain got another bad break on Thursday, with this one coming in a pretty literal form.

YES Network's Jack Curry reports that the Yankees right-hander dislocated his right ankle while playing with his son on a trampoline. Curry spoke to Cashman about what sounds like a gruesome injury, and the Yankees general manager told Curry that it was an "open dislocation" that will have Chamberlain in the hospital for a few days.

Cashman wasn't able to give Curry a time frame for any sort of return, but he did mention that it was a significant injury. Cashman indicated that he doesn't think it was a career-threatening injury, telling Curry, "I'd'like to say no [to it being career-threatening]. My heart and my gut tell me no."

It's obviously a big setback for Chamberlain who was on his way back from Tommy John surgery.

Oh My....

Well apparently the bone came through the ankle. Considering he had not come back from Tommy John surgery and now this....his 2012 is done.

I also believe his career might be as well.

From now on, playing basketball, jumping on trampolines and other family fun that can endanger a player's season should be forbidden.... ;)

Remember Boone injuring himself by playing basketball, something that his contract forbid....

It's amazing how often athletes get hurt spending time with family.
