After a 42 game season and a round robin like play off round of four teams, the participants of the Holland Series (the Dutch championship) are known.
It will be a best of seven series between Vaessen Pioniers from Hoofddorp (pronounce Hoafd dorp; Vaessen is the name of the sponsor) and L&D Amsterdam (formerly know as Pirates; L&D Support is the name of the sponsor).

After Pioniers already reached the Holland Series last weekend, Pirates beat Door Neptunus from Rotterdam last night 5-4 in extra innings.

Game one, in Hoofddorp was a real nail biter. In the seventh inning, L&D Amsterdam was leading 4-1, but after a three run homerun the Pioniers evened the score at four. It took five extra innings before Amsterdam scored after a couple of errors made by Pioniers.

Vaessen Pioniers evened the Holland Series at one each by beating L&D Amsterdam 6-5. Another close game. More to follow.

L&D Amsterdam outhit Vaessen Pioniers 11-7 but did not manage to win this game.
In the final inning, Pioniers scored the winning run on a hit by Mark Duursma, who batted in Zerhinho Croes.

After a couple of rain outs, Vaessen Pioniers played L&D Amsterdam in Amsterdam.

From the third inning Amsterdam took a 2-0 lead. In the top of the third Pioniers evened the score at two. But in their third at bat Amsterdam took the lead and never looked back. Final score 6-2.

Winning pitcher was Rob Cordemans who pitched eight innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He fanned nine and walked none. Best batter for Amsterdam was Kenny Berkenbosch who hit 2 for 2 with a solo homerun.

Due to this win, L&D Amsterdam is leading the Holland Series 2-1.

After clubbering Vaessen Pioniers, L&D Amsterdam can clinch the Dutch "honkbal" title tomorrow in their own park. An offensive outburst in the second inning, was the foundation of an 8-1 victory. Amsterdam SP Jos de Jong pitched a complete game and allowed only one run on six hits.

If Amsterdam clinch the title tomorrow, it will be their fourth.

They did it. L&D Amsterdam (a.k.a. Amsterdam Pirates) won their fourth Dutch title in existence.

The club from Amsterdam dominated Vaessen Pioniers, and took a 6-1 lead into the seventh inning. Then heaven opened the flood gates and the game was postponed for some time. If Pioniers still had some hope, it disappeared in the eighth ninth inning when Amsterdam scored four more runs.
Vaessen Pioniers scored one more run in the top of the ninth but that was about it. Final score 10-2.
