just an observation, its amazing how ineffective a lot of the trade deadline deals have proved to be for the teams aquiring some big names. Not necessarily in terms of individual performance, but in terms of how the teams themselves have fared since making these deals. The Indians aquiring fukodome and ubaldo jiminez has not helped them much, the giants have fallen apart since aquiring beltran, the cardinals aquiring edwin jackson furcal and all the other players has also done little to help them in their divison race

today is thre true trade deadline, right??? i wonder if any deals get made...

The Astros have already called up RP Juan Abreu (acquired in the Pence trade)...Cozart has been outstanding in all but one of his starts. Jonathan Singleton has been a monster in Lexington. I think the Astros will look back and be pleased about what they got in return
