In 1960, NL owners vote to expand to 10 teams with teams in New York and Houston.
In 1964, The Yankees fire manager Yogi Berra.
Also, in 1964, Manager Johnny Keane of the World Champion Cardinals resigns. He will take Berra's place as Yankee Manager.
In 1971, The Pirates beat the Orioles for the World Series title
In 1978, The Yankees complete a season of comebacks by defeating the Dodgers for the fourth straight game after losing the first two.
In 1979, the Pirates become the fourth team to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the World Series. In 1925, they had been the first.
In 1982, Robin Yount becomes the first player to have two 4 hit games in the same Series.
In 1987, The first World Series game played indoors has the Twins beat the Cardinals, 11-1.
In 1989, The 3rd game of the World Series is postponed after a massive earthquake strikes the Bay area shortly before the game is about to start.
