President Mascot Run

Since the inception of the Nationals they have had a President Mascot run each home game between George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, & Teddy Roosevelt. This wouldn't be all that interesting,but since this all started Roosevelt has never won the race. I wonder why the Nats promotional staff has chose to make him lose all the time and I wonder when he will win a race. Maybe it will happen the following day when the first clinch the playoffs.

This Presidential run (the name itself is pretty funny), is far from original. Copied from Milwaukee's sausage run....?
I can not imagine that people like this (same for Milwaukee).

I think Teddy not winning is definitely staged...lol

It is definitely staged. One game that I was at the Nationals were playing the Orioles. Teddy was out in front and out from nowhere came the Oriole Bird and he tackled him before he got to the finish line. It was really funny.
