Just in time for 3B Ryan Zimmerman to be cemented back into the lineup the Nationals have decided to pick their bats up again and start to hit. To go along with the good pitching they have had in Lannan, Hernandez, Zimmerman and Marquis. This team is sure to keep going in the right direction.

Good to hear. With Zimmerman back in the lineup, the Nats may still have a chance at .500. The pitching has been solid, they just need someone to give them that extra spark in their lineup. The fact that Jayson Werth leads the team in batting average at .240 is more than concerning.

Correction: ESPN must have a typo here. For some reason Michael Morse isn't listed as the team leader.

The Nats do seem to have a nice young core coming together now, will be interesting to see how they hold together as the season progresses. I defiantly agree that they appear to be heading in the right direction, hovering near .500 without Zimmerman for a while and in the future they have Strasburg and Harper to look forward to.

Mike Morse has been a pleasant surprise and especially playing 1B for the injured Adam LaRoche. Also rookie 2B Danny Espinosa has shown a lot of pop in his bat even though the average isn't there.
