This thread will allow you to vote for who in your opinion feel is the greatest player at his position for a particular decade. The criteria I will be using is 1,000 games played for position players, 250 games started for SP's, and 400 appearances for relief pitcher's.

Here are the candidates for the 1990's Starting Pitcher, and the poll will be closed at 12:30 CST on Tuesday, June 21st.

I'll take Roger Clemens and all of those titles thank you very much. This one was tough between him and Randy Johnson for me, but Clemens won the titles and RJ didnt (albeit not his fault).....

Greg Maddux --- Both on and off the field. Roger Clemens is a jackass. Excuse my language.

I also have to vote for Maddux and agree with CoreyR's thoughts on Roger Clemens.

Maddux. His career is almost perfectly framed by the decade; not an off year throughout the entire decade, didn't miss a start, and an outstanding peak from 1992 to 1998. Clemens was comparable for the most part, but less reliable; he had a few less impressive years, and while durable, he did miss starts.

"How many rings did Maddux win? How many did Clemens win? Enough said"

1 each in the 90's! But Maddux' other playoff appearances make him the more WIN-methodier pitcher for the decade!

Randy Johnson, led the D-Backs to a world series championship, fewest losses out of all those pitchers, and MOST strikeouts out of all of them.

Tom Glavine. Odd choice maybe. But I just love homegrown talent. Even in his "old" days he was pretty good.

Went with the pitching professor here even though him and Glavine were on blackroids given to them by the umps. Couldn't go wrong with Clemens or Johnson either.

Greg Maddux with the best stats over this decade. He may not have the ton of strikeouts like a Clemens or Johnson, but his pin point accuracy was amazing.

Maddux gets my vote. Clemens had a great decade too. But Greg made that decade.
