This thread will allow you to vote for who in your opinion feel is the greatest player at his position for a particular decade. The criteria I will be using is 1,000 games played for position players, 250 games started for SP's, and 400 appearances for relief pitcher's.

Here are the candidates for the 1990's Shortstop, and the poll will be closed at 12:10 CST on Tuesday, June 21st.

Going with Ripken here...but as we all know, Vizquel and Larkin are also damn good.

Barry Larkin gets my vote. Although I love Cal Ripken!

Barry Larkin was an outstanding shortstop (and so, too was Ripkin, but by 1997 Ripkin was playing full-time at third).

I will never vote against Ripken! I have a gazillion of his cards and he is my all-time favorite non-Yankee shortstop.

Barry Larkin. Have to give a nod to an old Denver Bear that had a great MLB career. One thing WAR don't account for is what a player gives to the game and not many has gave as much as Cal Jr.

Ripken gets a slight advantage over Larkin even though Larkin may have the better stats. I watched the Orioles a lot in the 90's when they were losing and then later in the 90's when they bought all those players to win and Ripken was always the backbone to that team win or lose.
