After lasting only 2 2/3 innings and giving up seven runs against the Cleveland Indians on Sunday, Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Edinson Volquez called out his teammates for their inability to score runs.

One day after his oddly timed rant, the Reds decided they had enough, and optioned Volquez to Class AAA Louisville.

He must have missed that part about when you point a finger 4 are pointing back at you!

Sure it can be frustrating for a pitcher when he doesn't get much run support. But he can't blame his teammates for his lousy ERA. Wise decision to send him to Louisville. Maybe he will learn some humility. If not, send him down to AA or even low A.

That makes 2/3 of the DVD boys that were so vaunted in the minors today.

Really odd tirade, but I've witnessed many odd things on Dusty Baker led teams before.

Dear Mr. Volquez:

How about you get your ERA below six before you complain about run support.

Sincerely,
A guy who isn't making $1.6 million this year

You just wonder how he could actually try to blame this on the team and not himself. Over 6 ERA guy shouldnt even be on AAA roster.

He just needs to pull his head out of his butt and play, no use in complaining and the Reds had enough and now he is down in AAA.
