I have 4 teams (3 espn, 1 yahoo)

4-2 (t-2nd in division, t-3rd overall, winning this week so should be 5-2 soon)

ESPN
10-team
H2H Points

35-20-5 (3rd overall, losing 4-6 this week, but once my pitching qualifies, i should sweep those categories plus SBs for a 6-4 win)

ESPN
10-team
H2H each category

35-25 (1st in division, 2nd overall, winning this week 8-2)

ESPN
12-team
H2H each category

29-26-5 (t-5th overall, losing this week 3-6)

Yahoo!
12-team
H2H each category

i got 5 teams currently (3 ESPN, 2 Yahoo)

ESPN leagues

1. Dynasty league --- 2nd place w/ 74 pts

2. Points league (keeper league as well) H2H ---- 1st place 4-2 record

3. H2H league (also a keeper) ------- 1st place 40-16-4 record

My Yahoo leagues are both roto scoring format

1. Keeper league ------dead last :(

*i am adding an asterisk here. i hated this team after last year so i decided to go with a different strategy of punting Wins and K's and going with all closers. So i kept 6 hitters and drafted all closers....basically my closers have all sucked and my offense has been even worse. 3 of my keepers were worth it (Reyes, Ethier, and maybe Stanton i guess) and the other 3 have been beyond terrible (Dunn, Crawford, Morales) ......i just misplayed this league this year...i have loaded up on prospects hoping for one or two to stick. Hosmer has a good chance.

2. Other random league i joined ---- 1st place w/ 70.5 points

haha, lesson learned? With RPers being so erratic from year to year, I can't imagine this strategy ever working. Punting saves is one thing, as it's only one category and you could probably not draft any closers at all and end up with 2-4 decent ones by the end of the year as much as they change. But punting both wins and ks I would imagine would be tough to win from week to week basically giving away 2 categories from the start. Not to mention that if you're closers have a couple of bad games, it's tougher to get the ERA back down since they pitch so few innings.

In my 4 leagues, i've added a couple of Salas, Fuentes, Melancon, Francisco in each of them already.

I'd probably just punt the rest of the season and jump on any big prospects I could who may or may not see some playing time this year. Brown was just called back up ... Mous, Ackley, Strasburg, Teheran

Or any young players that people may have gotten impatient with like Alvarez, Snider, Belt, Jennings, Hughes, Porcello, Sale, Matusz ... idk, just throwin' some names out there. Or if they're owned maybe you could buy low on them.

oh i have the following guys already hoping they hit:

Dominic Brown, Mike Moustakas, Freddie Freeman, Mark Trumbo, Zach Britton, Eric Hosmer, Bumgarner

i got the prospects, i am just hoping 2 of them really hit.

As far as the strategy goes, i was thinking that 4 good closers and 1 decent one would give me an ERA below 3, more than enough saves, and a WHIP below 1.20. All of those should be good enough to win those categories giving me 33 points (11-team league). then the 2 points would give me 35 points total. Divide that by the 5 categories and it's an average of 7 points for each category which should have been good enough to support a solid offense which was what i was hoping to have. Unfortunately for me, too many guys SUCKED this year that i kept. Oh well, lesson learned. I have actually made some trades that have given me a decent pitching staff right now i think.

here it is:

SP Tommy Hanson
SP Zach Britton
SP Annibal Sanchez
SP Johnny Cueto
SP Madison Bumgarner
SP Gavin Floyd

It's not great, but considering i started with ZERO SP's this year, i think it will get me through the rest of the year. I am only 8 wins behind the 2nd to last place guy, and so i can make up some ground there. I just dont want to finish last. I have never finished dead last in a league i tried in. I wont this year.

6 out of 10 in the Baseball Nation Dynasty League -- ESPN rotisserie scoring. My offense is slightly above average (6.6 points out of 10-- the median would be 5.5); my pitching has below average (4.6 points out of 10-- the median would be 5.5).

6 out of 12 in The Mudge League -- ESPN rotisserie scoring. Good offense (average of 8.8 points out of 12 -- the median would be 6.5); wretched pitching (4.4 points out of 12-- the median would be 6.5).

6 out of 12 in the Talk-Baseball Keeper League -- ESPN H2H, 10 categories. Overall record: 30-24-6.

1 out of 10 in a league entitled It's 5 O'clock Somewhere--CBS rotisserie scoring. I'm way ahead in this public league that I joined just for the hell of it. Great hitting (1st in the league) and good pitching (2nd in the league).

I like 6th place, I guess.

I'm in a couple more Yahoo leagues. I'll update those later.

Just checked my only team for the first time in several weeks, yeah I am that guy, an dmy team is .500. In second place in my division and would get the wildcard if the season ended today. Not too bad for being on autopilot. Made a few quick moves and might actually sneak out an overall win this week.

Just finished up some "Virtual" House cleaning on one of my teams. Release James Loney, Freddy Sanchez, JJ Hardy, Brian Duensing and Orlando Hudson. Then I picked up Ryan Ludwick, Chris Narverson, Jason Kubel, Sam Fuld and Mike Aviles. May not get people too excited, but all the guys i picked up had more points this year than the guy I dropped.

wow. that is close. I lost this week in my points league unfortunately. i was playing the last place team (0-6) and he had faced the highest scoring team for the last 4 weeks. i had a feeling i was going to lose this one. I hate facing a team that has had hard luck for the past couple weeks. they always seem to beat me

my staff is pretty awesome, i must admit

In my 16-team, points style, H2H league, I'm currently first in points, but in the last 5 weeks my opponent has scored 360 points or more (which is high considering the average score is 280-300), hence my 4-7 record and 5 game losing streak. Here's my team:

Hitting:

C Miguel Montero
1B Kevin Youkilis
2B Ian Kinsler
3B Pablo Sandoval
SS Tulo
OF Hunter Pence
OF Nelson Cruz
OF Alex Gordon (replacing Choo)
U Justin Smoak (usually had Gordon here)

As if anyone out there really cares, but here's an update on my fantasy teams as of today. Actually, I like to do this update just for myself in order to see if any of my moves are working out.

STRABISMIC ZARFS -Talk-Baseball Keeper League (H2H; as of July 4, I am 2nd out of 12 - unclear how many are legitimately active. BN MEMBERS: astrosfanatic, WilsonC, LP2, CoreyR, Sjnemeth3, LarryBud, Mudge). As of July 19, I am in 1st place, at 82-49-9, that's 2 1/2 games ahead of astrosfanatic.

MUDGE'S BREWERS - Baseball Nation Dynasty League (ROTO; as of July 4, I am 2nd out of 10 - but only 7 legitimately active. BN MEMBERS: All). As of July 19, I am tied with astrosfanatic for 2nd place (75 points each) behind WilsonC, who sports a commanding 8 game lead.

MUDGE ZWANGS - The Mudge League (ROTO; as of July 4, I am 6th out of 12 - but only 9 legitimately active. BN MEMBERS: SHK, Sjnemeth3, LarryBud, Mudge). Still 6th with 67.5 points. SHK is leading the league with 102 points. I'm out of it.

CUR MUDGEONS - Chadwick Keeper League (ROTO; as of July 4, I am 7th out of 11 - most seem to be legitimately active. BN MEMBERS: WilsonC, astrosfanatic, Mudge) I started the season mired in the cellar for almost 2 months, and then lo and behold, my team came alive. As of July 19th, I am in 2nd place, and with 71 points, I'm 5 games behind WilsonC.

UNGE ZIEFERS - Crisp in Center Pay League (ROTO; as of July 4, I am 4th out of 12 - all very active. BN MEMBERS: Mudge) Down to 6th (61.5 points). These guys are serious, and they are good. I've never finished higher than 5th.

HAXEISERS - Die Hard Baseball League (ROTO; as of July 4, I am 2nd out of 14 - unclear how many are legitmately active. BN MEMBERS: MSRoble, SHK, Mudge) Still 2nd out of 14 behind SHK. He's got 159 points to my 141 points. I've got 2 guys right on my tail, too.

i am really close to finishing 1st in my one and only pay to play league. i am pretty sure the league hates me b/c i just picked up the team this year and started with Reyes/Miggy Cabrera/Joey Votto as my 3 offensive keepers!!!! they are all jealous. But if i can hold on to my lead today, i will win first and 100 bucks. Then it is on to the playoffs where i can win 50 more if i win it all!!! This is the first time i have ever paid to play fantasy baseball, and it might be the only time i do so. I dont like gambling unless i feel like i have more control over the results

MUDGE'S BREWERS - Baseball Nation Dynasty League ROTO (BN MEMBERS: astrosfanatic, WilsonC, CoreyR, JoshRedcay, Vertigo), BaseballNum3er0, LarryBud, Mudge). July 19: 2nd place (75 points) 8 points behind WilsonC. August 15: 2nd place (75 points) 2 points behind WilsonC.

MUDGE ZWANGS - The Mudge League ROTO (BN MEMBERS: SHK, Sjnemeth3, LarryBud, Mudge). July 19: 6th with 67.5 points. August 15: 8th place; 68.5 points. Sjnemeth3 and I have been swopping 7th and 8th place for the past 2 weeks. It's turned into a mini-rivalry. SHK is leading the league with 106 points.

CUR MUDGEONS - Chadwick Keeper League ROTO (BN MEMBERS: WilsonC, astrosfanatic, Mudge) July 19th: 2nd place (71 points) 5 points behind WilsonC. August 15: 5th place (63.5 points) 14.5 points behind WilsonC. Horrible, horrible pitching.

Alright kids! Time to update!

Baseball Nation League: 1st Place (30-14-6) out of 12 teams

Chadwick Keeper League: 2nd Place (81.5 points) out of 11 teams

Rotowire League: 1st place (71.5 points) out of 11 teams

The New Mudge League: 3rd place (50 points) out of 6 teams

Baseball Nation Dynasty League: 2nd place (67.5 points) out of 10 teams

Champions Roto League: 6th place (150.5 points) out of 20 teams

I am most disappointed in my team in Mudge's league. With CarGo and Kemp's hot start and the supposed great NL pitching, i should be doing a lot better than i am. Unfortunately, Lincecum sucks and i just cant pick the right pitching match-up each night.

I am most impressed with my team in the Champions Roto League. I just inherited this team, and while i likely wont finish 6th, this team finished in 19th place last year and was a HORRIBLE team. Now i have some great prospects and my team is in the upper half of the league. My goal for this year was to finish around 10th. Anywhere from 8th to 12th would be a successful season in my eyes.

Overall, 2 first places, 2 second places, a third and a sixth(out of 20)....not a bad start to the year i guess.

How are your teams doing?????

I'm in a 8 player league with a 400.00 pot for first place. 6x6 league. I'm in first place 10.5 points ahead of next guy.

C. Joe Mauer..drafted
C. Matt Weiters...picked up off waivers. I couldnt believe this guy dropped him.
1B. Prince Feilder..drafted
2B. Jose Altulve...picked up as free agent....I dropped Rickie Weeks to get him
2B. Danny Murphy...drafted
SS. Derek Jeter...drafted
3B. Aramis Rameriz....picked up off of waivers...dropped Mark Reynolds
OF. Matt Kemp....my number 1 draft pick currently on dl
OF. Josh Hamilton...drafted I think in 6th round
OF. Andre Ethier....drafted
OF. Hunter Pence...drafted
OF. Bryce Harper...picked up as free agent....I dropped Yoenis Cepedes

SP1. Roy Halladay..my number 2 draft pick currently on dl.
SP2. Cole Hamels...drafted
SP3. Matt Cain...drafted
SP4. Madison Bumgarner...drafted
SP5. Anibel Sanchez...drafted
SP6. Gio Gonzalez....picked him up after he was dropped off of waivers
SP7. Chris Sale...picked up as free agent in 3rd week
RP1. John Axford...drafted..has been a disappointment
RP2. Addison Reed....picked up as free agent also not doing great.

I had Mariano Rivera but I dropped him due to injury, I've had a problem with stolen bases and saves this year but everything else has been going well for me. Although last night I had my first really bad day and i'm currently losing 1-9. But then again it's the first day of the week.

I feel I made some really good picks in the draft. Jeter has been great and Hamilton was the best pick I did with Ethier being very steady too. My pitching staff has been dominating. 2 weeks ago I had 84 strikeouts with 7 wins and I blew my opponet away in era and whip.

Hey that's me in the picture too!

I think we should be in more leagues together AF. You're a smart and active player and I could always use another guy that loves using puns in their team name.
