A ball club kicked out of a stadium? Yes. How unlikely it may seem. It has happened to the Independent Schaumburg Flyers.
The Flyers playing in the Northern League have been kicked out of the stadium because owner Rich Ehrenreich did not pay due rent bills, amusement taxes, utilities and other funds. Ehrenreich owes the village of Schaumburg about $ 900,000.
The city gave him some time to sell the club and pay his dues, but that time ended yesterday. So now the Flyers are a ball club without a stadium.
The village of Schaumburg may now try to house another minor league team in the stadium, but that may be very unlikely since the season is about to begin.
